Lane & Partners LLP is pleased to announce that it recently advised, in conjunction with Advokatfirmaet Selmer DA, The European Bank
for Reconstruction and Development and Norum (Cyprus) Limited (manager to the relevant EBRD regional venture fund) in the disposal of its
30% interest in Inmarko to Unilever N.V. Linklaters, in conjunction with its in-house legal department, acted for Unilever N.V.
and Squire Sanders & Dempsey acted for the other vendors.
Inmarko was established in 1991 and is the leading ice-cream company in Russia and had a turnover of approximately 115 million in
2007. The company has a strong brand and product portfolio with clear market leadership in central and Eastern Russia and a fast growing
business across all regions of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan. It has an extensive supply-chain network including three factories
in Novosibirsk, Omsk and Tula and currently employs more than 4,500 people. The consideration paid under the acquisition agreement is
confidential. The agreement which is conditional on competition approval is expected to complete later this year.
Unilever is a multinational corporation formed of Anglo-Dutch parentage and owns many of the world's consumer product brands in foods,
beverages, cleaning agents and personal care products. Unilever employs nearly 180,000 people and has world-wide revenue of 40
billion in 2006. The company is widely listed on the world's stock exchanges.
